BJ Task: Living Quarters

Lily lives in the Spade mansion, in the library. Walking in, you enter through two tall wooden doors. Inside the library, the scent of old books wafts through. To the left are the non-fiction books, and to the left is the fiction. All of the books are organized in alphabetical order according to their author, and have their call number stamped on the inside cover.

Between the two rows of fiction and non-fiction is a long blue carpet. Dangling from the ceiling above the carpet is a large chandelier, made of silver and decorated with diamonds and tiny sapphire spades. On the carpet are three mahogany tables, each with six chairs, a light stand, and an ink block with quills.

On the same side as the non-fiction books is the desk where Lily spends most of her day working. Behind the desk, you can find books with records of all the books in the library, who has checked them out, and their call numbers. Also, you can find an ink pad with stamp pads that rotate in order to record when the books are due. In another corner behind the desk are all of the new books that Lily has "purchased" (stolen) for the library, and that are waiting to be added to the books and receive call numbers.

At the end of the carpet is a flight of stairs leading to a wide open stage-like area. On this stage are a bunch of chairs organized around tables where people can socialize quietly and/or read. One of the tables has a chessboard on it, and another has a deck of cards. On the wall behind this open space hangs a portrait of the mansion.

On the wall adjacent to the one with the portrait, there is a door. This door leads to Lily's living quarters. When you first walk in, there are two sofas opposite one another, with a coffee table in between them. In the corner is a record player, and in the opposite one is a bookshelf. To the side, there is a coat rack and a shoe mat.

Going into the next room, you find a quaint little kitchen, with a stove and an ice box. There's also a running water tap over the sink, and at least a cupboard full of washing detergents and such. Food can be found in all the pantries in a wide variety.

Another doorway from the living room leads to the dining room, where there's a long table with twelve chairs surrounding it. Against one wall is the china cabinet, where all of the clean china and good silver are kept. From the ceiling hangs a miniature version of the chandelier in the library.

The next doorway over from the dining room leads to Lily's room. The bed is queen sized, covered with silk sheets, a deep blue comforter, and a couple of pillows. Standing next to her bed is her night stand. Resting on it is an old metal alarm clock, a brightly lit lamp, and a couple books for some evening reading. Against the wall is a vanity, drawers full of trinkets. Next to it is her closet, lined with all her outfits all hanging neatly. On another wall is a bookshelf with all of Lily's favorite books.

A doorway in her room leads to Lily's private bathroom. Inside there is a marble tub, sink, and a toilet. Hanging on one of the walls are some cabinets. Inside the first one, you can find all kinds of cleaning products. In the second are her soaps and shampoos.

So now you've seen Lily's living quarters. She has just returned from getting some needed things from the library. Be sure to leave quietly, and safe trails!
